As a Mechanical Engineer / Senior Mechanical Engineer in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) business, you will play an important role in delivering a variety of projects, from niche consultancy to large, high-profile programs. Your contribution will help safeguard our nation.
Your purpose:
* Support or lead the creation of optimal design solutions to meet client requirements.
* Produce substantiation calculations to demonstrate design performance.
* Author and update technical documents.
* Manage project delivery in terms of Time, Cost, and Quality.
* Support QA processes through reviews and checking colleagues’ work.
* Present work to clients during formal reviews.
* Work within project teams, including placements at clients’ sites.
What you can bring:
* Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Chartership with a relevant engineering institution or progress towards it.
* Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application.
* Experience across the design lifecycle, including requirements capture, concept generation, development, and down-selection.
* Familiarity with design codes and industry standards for safety-critical industries.
* Experience in producing design documentation, calculations, reports, and specifications, including computer-aided design.
* Experience presenting at formal design reviews.
* Experience working in teams on mechanical engineering projects, especially in nuclear or safety-critical industries.
