GCSE English Tutor – Stockport (SK1)
Support students to succeed in English and grow their confidence ahead of exams.
We’re looking for a committed and inspiring tutor to provide GCSE English tuition to young people in the Stockport area. This is a one-to-one role supporting pupils who are not currently in mainstream education. Sessions take place either in the pupil’s home or in a quiet public space such as a local library.
The young people you’ll be working with may have missed time in school or are struggling with confidence in their learning. Your role is to help them re-engage with English, build their skills, and prepare for exams.
This opportunity would suit a qualified teacher or experienced tutor who wants to focus on individual progress in a flexible and rewarding setting.
What we’re looking for:
* Strong subject knowledge in GCSE English (Language and/or Literature).
* Experience teaching or tutoring secondary-age pupils.
* A patient, adaptable approach to support learners at different levels.
* Confidence planning and delivering focused, engaging lessons one-to-one.
* Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
What’s on offer:
* £25–£30 per hour, paid weekly.
* Flexible working hours within school times (Monday to Friday).
* Full support from a dedicated consultant.
* Opportunity to make a lasting impact on learners outside of a classroom environment.
This is an ideal role if you’re seeking to step away from whole-class teaching and focus on helping pupils achieve their potential in a personalised way.
