What is the job role?
This is an exciting opportunity to work within Adult Social Care in the role of the Engagement and Development Officer.
The role of the Engagement & Development Officer will sit within the Adult Commissioning Team but will work across Adult Social Care to promote the involvement of Coventry Citizens in the way we design and develop services.
In Coventry Adult Social Care, we place adults and their carers at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to ensuring that people with care and support needs and their carers can be equal partners in planning and shaping future developments in Adult Social Care alongside improving current experiences.
You will also play an important role in how we commission and quality assure services. We are passionate about strengths-based practice, person-centred provision and active collaboration with Coventry residents to live fulfilling and independent lives:
1. You will play a key role in seeking people's views on their care and their experience through Adult Social Care. The role will also play a vital part in the development of services
2. You will act as a representative for Adult Social Care at key events and forums
3. You will work across organisations, with wider partners and key stakeholders, to ensure a wide representation of citizens and organisations
4. You will work with colleagues to develop approaches to seeking feedback.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about improving support for people navigating Adult Social Care and carers. The successful candidate will have:
5. Enthusiasm and passion to see improvements
6. Excellent interpersonal skills
7. Experience and knowledge of Adult Social Care (this could be professionally or through own experience)
8. Ability to work in collaboration with citizens, carers and key stakeholders
9. Sensitivity and empathy to the wide range of needs of Coventry residents
10. Experience / understanding of the benefits of co-production and stakeholder involvement
11. Confidence in speaking to a wide range of people at different forums and events.
