Water Polo Coach
Basic Purpose of the Job
To work closely with the Head of Swimming and Water Polo in developing the sporting potential of pupils to their highest possible standards.
Main Duties
* Plan and deliver training sessions – catering for both participation and performance for boys and girls from 13-18.
* Develop the water polo potential of pupils to their highest standards.
* Ensure suitable team selections in conjunction with the Head of Swimming and Water Polo.
* Provide meaningful and enjoyable House swimming and water polo competitions in collaboration with the Head of Swimming and Water Polo.
* Attend all home and away water polo fixtures.
* Must be willing to drive the school minibuses (training will be provided if necessary).
Person Specification
Successful candidates will likely fit the following profile:
* An experienced coach with at least a Level 2 Water Polo Coaching Certificate; Level 1 Water Polo Assistant Coach will also be considered.
* Excellent organisational, administrative, and ICT skills.
* Experience coaching at various levels in an educational setting is beneficial.
* High levels of personal and professional integrity, with the ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
* Positive rapport with pupils.
* A strong work ethic and flexible attitude.
Terms of Service
* Hours are term-time only, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 18:00, including fixtures on these days. Availability on Saturdays is useful but not essential.
* Opportunity for occasional overtime.
* The successful candidate will be paid an hourly rate, agreed in advance with the Head of Swimming and Water Polo and the Director of Sport. As a casual contractor, employment status for tax purposes will be determined by the School in accordance with IR35 legislation.
* A full driving license is required.
* All applicants must undergo a Criminal Record check and child protection screening.
Safeguarding
