SLLP is committed to being a high performing in-house shared legal service which plays an essential part in the achievement of the priorities and objectives of our five local authorities for the benefit of their communities. The partnership has 150-160 staff and an annual turnover of £14 million. Over 1 million people are represented by the constituent councils we serve. Operating at scale has enabled us to recruit and retain excellent staff and provide a consistently high standard of service to our five Boroughs.

Having recently expanded our Housing Litigation Team we are seeking to recruit a Senior Lawyer to join a vibrant, dedicated and highly skilled team, where every member is valued, supported and encouraged to be part of the team’s development and processes.

Responsibilities

* Work as a qualified Senior Lawyer with a background and experience in housing civil litigation.
* Deal with a wide range of matters acting for our Boroughs as both claimant and defendant, including tenancy management enforcement, disrepair, homelessness, public law, and Judicial review.
* Provide general supervision to the housing litigation team and have direct line management for up to 5 members of staff.

Requirements / Qualifications

* Qualified Senior Lawyer with experience in housing civil litigation.
* Real team player, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work to tight timescales.
* Knowledge of local government legislation is desirable and/or can be developed.

About SLLP – Vision, Values and Working Arrangements

SLLP’s Vision & Values include a commitment to improving services through the development of our staff in an inclusive and supportive environment. We aim to attract and retain a workforce which reflects the diverse communities we serve. We are based in Southwest London and offer a wide range of flexible working options, including hybrid working, and have developed a number of health and well-being initiatives over the years.
