About the Job

Join a dedicated team at the heart of student success! As a key member of the Assessment, Ceremonies and Exams (ACE) team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of data across all ACE systems – supporting the seamless delivery of operations, documentation, and reporting.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the student journey. You’ll provide expert advice and guidance on ceremonies, certification and the verification of University awards, as well as supporting University examinations and the management of assessment outcomes.

Your work will directly contribute to an outstanding student experience, ensuring that every process we deliver is efficient, accurate and student focused. If you’re passionate about precision, service excellence, and being part of a collaborative team, we would love to hear from you.

We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.

We are an accredited Living Wage Foundation Employer and pay the real living wage, which is currently £25,949 per annum. In recognition of this, the starting salary for this post has been increased to pay this higher amount which currently supersedes the actual Grade 4 salary before living wage.

About You

You are someone who brings enthusiasm, curiosity and a sense of responsibility to your work. You may be at the beginning of your career or looking to take the next step, but what sets you apart is your ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and approach challenges with a problem‑solving mindset.

You are confident working with data – spotting inconsistencies and thinking logically about how to resolve them. You are comfortable using digital systems and are eager to develop your skills further, especially in working with student records or similar platforms.

You understand the importance of accuracy, procedures and tracking progress and you take pride in producing high‑quality work. You communicate clearly and professionally and are committed to delivering excellent service to colleagues, students and external partners alike.

Above all, you’re someone who values integrity, inclusivity and continuous improvement and are ready to grow in a post where those values matter.

Qualifications

* GCSE or equivalent vocational qualification (NVQ 2 or equivalent) or equivalent experience.

Faculty / Department

The post is located within Academic Registry. Academic Registry is central to the delivery of the University’s strategy. What we do matters to staff throughout the University, to students and their experience at every stage of their higher education journey and to a range of external stakeholders. It is therefore essential that we provide reliable, trusted, expert, consistent, transparent and efficient services.

Academic Registry includes a number of teams supporting student administration. These include Admissions, Academic Quality, Student Records and Data Management, Assessment, Ceremonies and Exams, and Student Casework. Academic Registry works closely with all Faculties and professional services teams across the University.
