A rare opportunity has arisen for an 8a Clinical Lead Physiotherapist in the Regional Learning Disability East Team, hosted by SBUHB. The team delivers a community-based service to clients with a Learning Disability (LD) across CTMUHB and CAVUHB areas. Teams are based in Merthyr, RCT, Bridgend, Barry and Cardiff, with a further team led by a Clinical Lead in the West (SBUHB area).
You will be responsible for planning, delivering, managing and evaluating the specialist physiotherapy service, providing leadership, support, supervision and mentorship to staff. Collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team, including LD Directorate Managers formulates much of the role.
The post holder will be responsible for delivery and evaluation of KPIs for the LD physiotherapy team through policy implementation and audit, in line with clinical governance principles and standards.
An ability to communicate professionally through both verbal and written methods is essential, including use of non-verbal communication skills with clients with profound communication difficulties.
The ability to assess highly complex clients using evidence-based medicine and practice, including postural management is essential.

Main duties of the job
·Responsible for planning, delivering, managing and evaluating the LD physiotherapy service across the whole patient pathway including in-reach advice and support to the acute setting
·Ensure that the provision and delivery of Physiotherapy is evidence-based and in line with recognised best practice.
·Ensure the LD physiotherapy team adheres to the Health Board and Departmental Clinical Governance policies and guidance.
·Work to ensure the Physiotherapy Service is compliant with all relevant key performance indicators
·Take the lead role in contributing to and delivering any planned or future service re-design model
·Contribute to training needs of the team and students
·Represent the Physiotherapy Service at SBUHB meetings
·Attend local and national forums, providing a highly specialist resource for other therapy, nursing and medical professionals
·Manage a set budget, including approving pay and non-pay expenditure for your team

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Physiotherapy Degree/ Diploma & HPC registration
2. Evidence of completion of specialist courses and relevant post-graduate training in area of clinical expertise, equivalent to masters level
3. Accredited Clinical Educator or equivalent training qualification e.g. Assessor / train the trainer / Leadership/managment training
4. Advanced knowledge of working as a Physiotherapist in the NHS with knowledge of service delivery in a variety of different clinical settings across the patient pathway
5. Active involvement in specialist interest groups, and leading projects, developing a new service, or service innovation. Experience of leading an audit or research project
6. Knowledge of interdisciplinary working, partnership working and ability to build and sustain relationships with AHPs from different disciplines. Knowledge of leading multidisciplinary team meetings.
7. Evidence of leadership and managing staff
