First Military Recruitment is seeking a Field Service Technician on behalf of one of our clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and carrying out fault diagnostics on a range of electrically powered equipment, including EV trucks and battery-powered handling equipment. This role is field-based and may occasionally require overnight stays.
We are particularly interested in speaking with engineers based in Romford and surrounding areas.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Service, repair, and maintenance of electric trucks and lifting equipment
2. Advanced fault finding and diagnostics
3. Provide timely and detailed service reports
4. Follow all company procedures and protocols
5. Van stock management
6. Cooperate with the technical team and share information across the organisation
7. Comprehend customer requirements and provide appropriate recommendations
8. Perform LOLER and thorough examinations
9. Build and maintain positive customer relationships
Skills and Qualifications:
10. Proven field service experience
11. Electrical background with mechanical experience
12. Extensive experience in mechanical engineering or auto electrical engineering, including material handling, lifting products, and electric trucks
13. Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair, and service technical equipment
14. English literacy
15. Ability to work flexible hours and away from home when required
16. Full and clean driving licence
17. Technical degree or relevant certification
18. Knowledge of both AC and DC motors
Location: Romford
Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 + Overtime
