Trainee Quantity Surveyor – Dundee Emtec Building Services are a leading national contractor with a highly skilled in-house workforce of mechanical, electrical, plumbing engineers and much more. Due to some recent significant contract wins we are seeking a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join the team at our Dundee Office. As Trainee Quantity Surveyor you will play a crucial role in the commercial delivery of exciting Mechanical and Electrical projects across the UK, working closely with our Project Managers and reporting to our Commercial Manager. From day one you you’ll receive continuous training, support, and growth opportunities from our dedicated team. The Role Keep accurate financial records and report monthly on Cost/ Value reconciliation. Assist with Tender and Contract vetting. Support with Estimating and Tender preparation. Prepare and issue Sub-Contract tender packages and orders. Attend prestart meetings when required and regular commercial meetings. Review and approve subcontractor payments and subcontractor payless notices. Advise on financial matters for contracts, ensuring that valuations are optimised, certified, and paid on time. Work closely with the Project Teams to review & monitor interim applications, ensuring contract conditions are met and we’re set up for successful delivery. Monitor site progress and take a lead issuing required notices according to contract procedures and timelines. Collaborate with the wider team and advise on all matters relating to Contract and Commercial issues. What we are looking for Ideal candidate is a part qualified or degree qualified Quantity Surveyor with some work experience. Keen interest in construction industry Excellent numeric and IT skills First class attention to detail Able to work on your own with minimum supervision and as part of a team. Positive work ethic and excellent communication skills are essential. This role is generally office and site based so you will need a full clean UK driving licence to get about when needed.
