Oker is a 13-bedded ward providing rehabilitation, complex discharge planning, and end-of-life care. The multidisciplinary team comprises nursing and allied health professionals, including Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Therapy Assistants, and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The clinical team is supported by Administrative Staff, Porters, Hotel Services, and Housekeepers.
As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), your primary duty will be to support Registered Nurses and the multidisciplinary team in person-centred patient care. Wider duties include maintaining the ward environment, assisting with audits and accreditation, attending team meetings, and adhering to trust policies and procedures.
We seek someone who will work collaboratively with the entire team and support the ward in striving for the best possible patient experience.
Oker Ward offers opportunities for HCAs to develop clinical skills that contribute to safe and effective patient care. The ward operates 24/7, and this post involves shift work, including days, nights, double and/or single shifts, twilight shifts, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
