On behalf of Bradford Children and Families Trust, we are recruiting an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the K & S - D & A Team 1 on a full-time locum basis. This is a key senior role within Children's Services, offering the opportunity to influence practice standards and drive positive outcomes for vulnerable children and families.
This position is ideal for a highly skilled practitioner ready to lead by example, manage complex cases, and support the professional development of colleagues.
About the Role
As an Advanced Practitioner, you will:
1. Manage and oversee complex child protection and safeguarding cases
2. Provide high-level guidance and reflective supervision to Social Workers
3. Model best practice and ensure high-quality assessments and care planning
4. Contribute to strategy meetings, risk assessments, and court proceedings
5. Maintain strong multi-agency working relationships
6. Support service improvement and uphold statutory responsibilities
This is a frontline safeguarding role requiring strong analytical skills, court experience, and the ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions.
Essential Requirements
7. Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
8. Substantial post-qualification experience within Children's Services
9. Strong background in child protection and safeguarding
10. Experience supporting or mentoring less experienced practitioners
11. Confident report writing and court work experience
12. Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced statutory environment
