The post holder will be expected to build trust, confidence and goodwill inrelation to research activity within primary care in Leeds. They will work withother stakeholders including Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, LeedsCommunity Health NHS Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust,West Yorkshire R&D and the NIHR Yorkshire and Humber RRDN in a matrixenvironment to wider participation in research activities across the city.

Main duties of the job
* Understand, develop and lead on theimplementation of a new Patient Identification Centre service for GP Practicesacross Leeds, addressing relevantgovernance challenges as required.
* Contributing to the citys ambition to expandresearch opportunities across General Practice within Leeds in line with NIHRsstrategic ambition.
* Engage with GP practices to participate in theprogramme, enabling patients and colleagues maximum opportunity to be involvedin research activity.
Working within the Leeds GP Confederation to undertake first line study feasibility in the following areas:
oUnderserved communities
oDisease prevalence
oManagement of long-term conditions
oGP practice research preference
* To work with partners to provide assurance to the GP Confederationthat financial allocations and flow procedures reflect activity as per agreedresearch contracts.
* In partnership with other stakeholders, toprovide study level guidance (where appropriate) to GPs and answerqueries/provide further information.
* To disseminate study expressions of interest asrequired and facilitate study uptake, and to manage GP responses, queries, andfeedback.
* To liaise with WY R&D and the NIHR RRDN re:study and primary care approval processes.

Qualifications

* Clinician with active registration with relevant professional body
Experience
* Significant prior experience of working within a research management or governance role
* Experience of working in a primary care research environment
* Experience of management and the use and development of policies and procedures.
* A proven track record of communicating and engaging effectively with a wide range of external agencies at all levels.
* Experience of Project management in a research setting, preparing plans/strategies for research projects and contributing to planning and formulation of strategies for a research service.
* Experience of prioritising within a project within a research setting
