Job Title: Hotel Receptionist (Full-Time)

Job Overview: The Fleece Hotel in Richmond is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Full-Time Hotel Receptionist to join our team. This person will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional service at the reception desk, and will also occasionally assist with front-of-house duties in our bar and restaurant. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in both reception and customer service roles, ideally in a hotel or hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Hotel Reception Duties:
* Greet and check-in guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming experience.
* Manage guest bookings, reservations, and check-out procedures.
* Answer phone calls, emails, and respond to guest inquiries promptly.
* Ensure the smooth running of the reception area, including handling guest requests, complaints, and feedback.
* Maintain guest records, including personal details and payment information, in line with hotel policies.
Front of House (Bar/Restaurant):
* Assist with the smooth operation of the bar and restaurant, offering excellent customer service.
* Take food and drink orders from guests, providing menu recommendations when required.
* Serve food and drinks promptly and efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction.
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the bar and restaurant areas.
* Assist in setting up and clearing down areas as needed.
* Support with any other front-of-house duties, including cash handling and processing payments.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Previous experience as a hotel receptionist or in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests professionally and courteously.
* Experience in a bar/restaurant environment preferred but not essential, with a solid understanding of front-of-house operations.
* Ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, staying organised and efficient under pressure.
* Proficiency in using booking systems (RezControl/Rez Diary preferred but not essentially as full training will be given) and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
* A positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and willingness to help where needed.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.
