As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building and scaling the core infrastructure that powers our clients platform. This is a hands-on role requiring deep experience in backend engineering, cloud systems, and architectural thinking.

Location: London - Hybrid
Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 + Stock Options + Benefits
Tech Stack
Cloud-native platform. Experience with the following will be highly desirable:
* AWS – Lambda, API Gateway, Cognito, S3 and OpenSearch
* Node.js / TypeScript and Python
* DynamoDB and PostgreSQL
* Serverless Architecture and microservices patterns.
* Infrastructure tools like Terraform, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
* Security and compliance practices, especially relevant in healthcare.
Responsibilities:
* Design and build robust, scalable cloud-first backend systems.
* Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices and DevOps tooling.
* Build and maintain LLM-powered features such as RAG pipelines for clinical information.
* Develop and optimise agentic document extraction workflows to process clinical PDFs, policies, and handbooks into structured formats.
* Collaborate closely with our product and frontend teams to deliver high-impact features.
* Write clean, well-tested code and guide best practices across the engineering team.
* Take ownership of system reliability, performance, and security in a healthcare context.
Key Skills:
* 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
* Strong AWS proficiency - hands-on experience building and deploying systems in the cloud.
* Familiarity with embedding models, chunking strategies, and semantic search.
* Experience working in a small team or startup environment.
* A pragmatic problem-solver who balances speed with sustainability.
* Passion for writing maintainable, scalable code.
* Knowledge of security and compliance best practices (e.g. HIPAA/GDPR, NHS DTAC, SOC 2).
* Bonus: experience in healthcare, medtech, or regulated environments.
