Production Engineer – Manufacturing
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 + Benefits
We’re working with a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Portsmouth that is looking to add a talented Production Engineer to their team.
The Role
As a Production Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting and improving manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure smooth day-to-day running of the shop floor.
Key responsibilities include:
* Optimising production processes to improve efficiency and output
* Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
* Supporting new product introduction (NPI) into manufacturing
* Troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions
* Developing and maintaining work instructions and process documentation
* Liaising with cross-functional teams to ensure production targets are met
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong engineering background and hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment.
You’ll ideally have:
* Proven experience in a Production or Manufacturing Engineering role
* Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
* Experience with lean manufacturing principles
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Good communication skills and a proactive approach
