Rotable Repairs Ltd is one of the world’s leading specialist Aircraft Wheel and Brake MRO’s that specialises in the repair and overhaul of aircraft wheels, brakes, freight and hydraulic components. As a Part 145 EASA/FAA and TCCA Approved Workshop facility, Rotable Repairs provides quality repair and overhaul services for most classic and current generation jet & turbo prop aircrafts trusted by airlines and aerospace organisations all over the world.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Technician, Cleaning Bay I assists in preparing and cleaning aerospace components within a workshop environment. Working under close supervision, the role involves basic cleaning light disassembly, and preparation tasks. You will learn to follow established procedures, use approved cleaning methods, and work safely while keeping the workspace tidy and hazard free.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Read and understand work instructions, maintenance manuals, operating procedures and customer specification requirements.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of process paperwork and parts control.
* In accordance with maintenance manuals, understand and carry disassembly of aircraft wheel and dismounting of aircraft tyres.
* Cleaning of aircraft wheels, brakes, and aerospace components using approved and dedicated cleaning tools and machines.
* Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of process for media blasters paint removal.
* Ensure all areas are clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
* Wear PPE as instructed and follow safety procedures.
* Report any obvious defects or concerns to your supervisor/team leader.
* Store and move components safely within the workshop.
* Support team members with general workshop duties.
* Perform job duties on various shifts in response to customer needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Entry Level Certificate, ESOL Skills for Life, Functional Skills Entry Level English, Maths & ICT.
* Interest in learning technical or workshop skills.
* Good attention to detail and careful handling of components.
* Basic understanding of safety and cleanliness in a workshop (training provided).
* Reliable, punctual, and keen to develop skills.
Progression Pathway to Level 2:
After a year of experience in the Cleaning Bay Department, demonstrating consistent progress and a positive attitude, individuals will be considered for advancement to Level 2.
This progression requires:
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Maintaining consistency in performance.
* Attaining required productivity levels.
* A minimum of 1 years’ experience in wheel disassembly, cleaning and media.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
* Previous experience working within engineering.
* Experience within the aviation industry.
