IT Manager Brackmills, Northampton About Rushlift Ltd Rushlift is a leading provider of innovative customer-focused solutions in materials handling equipment, mechanical services and fleet management. Rushlift provides impartial advice to enable customers to maximise the effectiveness of their industrial equipment fleets, through either long-term hire contracts or servicing and repair arrangements. In addition to providing all types of forklift trucks, from powered pallet trucks to wire-guided systems, Rushlift hires and maintains a wide range of industrial equipment such as sweepers, mobile plants, and lorry loader cranes. About the role: To manage all aspects of the IT Department and IT infrastructure, to ensure all IT systems are kept secure, reliable and effective and to develop the companies IT strategy to match the company’s business strategy. Your key responsibilities will include: Managing the deployment, development, monitoring, maintenance, upgrading and support of organisational IT systems. This will include operating systems, servers, PCs, software apps, telephones and peripherals. Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems and integrating new systems Managing IT staff, with responsibility for hiring, evaluation, training, guidance, disciplinary procedures and dismissals. Keeping up to date with the most recent technologies and advising on what new technological solutions and their implementation will meet business and systems requirements. Negotiating with suppliers of hardware and software to get the best deal, including external support, and being responsible for making service agreements. Ensure projects are completed within agreed timescales and to agreed specification. Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements. Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. Manages departmental budget and tracks spending on equipment and staff What we are looking for: Experience preferred in IT service desk environment with customer facing support and hands-on diagnostic / troubleshooting. Experience with design deployment and testing of network infrastructures. Expert knowledge of Microsoft platforms including but not limited to Windows, Office 365 etc. Thorough understanding of modern technological advancements.
