Job Description
3. Managing the monthly payroll process end-to-end - accurate, reconciled, and always on time
4. Overseeing starters, leavers, timesheets, absences, and employee record updates
5. Handling statutory and non-statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions, SAYE, Salary Finance, benefits)
6. Acting as the go-to person for payroll queries and escalations
7. Supporting and coaching your team, while working with HR/Finance to improve processes
8. Ensuring compliance with HMRC, pensions auto-enrolment, and statutory reporting requirements
The Successful Applicant
9. CIPP qualified (or working towards) or equivalent payroll experience
10. Background in managing or supervising payroll teams
11. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation (PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP, salary sacrifice, benefits in kind)
12. Experience with large, complex payrolls
13. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and experience with integrated HR/Payroll/Finance systems
14. Confident communicator with a collaborative, problem-solving approach
