Astute's Renewables Team is partnering with a well-established anaerobic digestion and renewable energy business that plays a key role in sustainable energy generation across the UK, to recruit a Health & Safety Manager for its Oxfordshire/ Northampton sites.

Responsibilities and duties of the Health & Safety Manager role
* Lead the development and implementation of HSE strategy and supporting tactical plans.
* Act as a key advisor to leadership on safety, occupational health, and wellbeing matters.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and standards, including CDM 2015, guiding duty holders on their responsibilities.
* Provide technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, including process safety studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA).
* Promote and embed H&S best practice across all business functions.
* Monitor HSE performance, analysing trends and driving continuous improvement actions.
* Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and incident investigations.
* Support supplier onboarding and qualification from an H&S perspective.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align systems with operational risks and business needs.
* Engage with external bodies including regulators and emergency services to ensure effective compliance and response planning.
Professional Qualifications
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent H&S qualification.
* Knowledge of ISO standards, particularly 45001.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within engineering, construction, or process environments, with anaerobic digestion or gas production experience advantageous.
* Experienced with CDM, COMAH, DSEAR, ADR, GSMR, regulations.

* Flexible to travel to sites to maintain accessibility across the business.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
