We are seeking a team of compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team. The ideal candidates will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals, particularly those with Autism, Educational and Substance misuse issues. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the lives of those we support through patience, understanding and effective communication.
Responsibilities
Provide high standard of care and support to individuals in various settings, ensuring their comfort and well-being, taking their wishes and feelings in to consideration.
Implement applied behaviour analysis techniques to promote positive behaviours and development.
Manage and prompt medication as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and guidelines.
Work collaboratively with individuals on the autism spectrum, tailoring support strategies to meet their unique needs.
Engage with adults and young people, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages learning and growth.
Assist in the development of individual care plans and risk assessments, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments.
Maintain accurate records of support provided and report any concerns to senior staff members or external professional bodies as appropriate.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications
Previous experience in working with people with mental health and substance misuse issues or a related field is preferred.
Knowledge of person centred and psychologically informed support planning is an advantage.
Experience working with individuals on the autism and learning disability spectrums is highly desirable.
Familiarity with medication administration protocols is beneficial.
A background in special education or related disciplines will be considered an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of varying ages and professional bodies.
A patient, empathetic, non judgemental approach with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on others' lives.
