To be accountable to the governing body, and be responsible for advising on related matters regarding duties and powers and to observe confidentiality at all times.
The board of Governors meet 9 times a year on the last Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held in the afternoons and typically last 1 hour.
This role requires staff to
Supporting and attending board and committee meetings.
Working effectively with the Chair and Headteacher before each meeting to prepare the agenda.
Circulating the agenda and all other required documentation prior to the meeting in an agreed timeframe
Drafting reports on associated issues
Preparing accurate minutes, indicating who is responsible for any agreed actions and recording decisions accurately.
Advising the governing board on governance legislation and procedural matters.
Keeping accurate records of attendance, declarations of interest, database of members including terms of office, minute books and other documents relevant to the board of trustees or the governing body.
Responsible for liaising with HR to ensure all volunteer files are kept up to date.
Preparing a schedule and timetable of governor business to effectively manage workload.
