Manufacturing Engineering, Assembly - Placement Year. BMW Group / Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – Goodwood, West Sussex, United Kingdom.
Internship opportunity for undergraduate or integrated Master’s degree students to complete a 12-month placement starting July 2025/July 2026 depending on intake. Role focuses on enabling assembly processes, developing equipment, and supporting lean manufacturing initiatives to meet cost, quality and volume targets.

Responsibilities
 * Learn the manufacturing planning process from concept to shopfloor implementation applying lean manufacturing principles.
 * Participate in a variety of projects, including new model introduction and site development.
 * Apply design and manufacturing skills in a real-time environment; conduct data analysis using software tools (e.g., Microsoft VBA) and develop coding skills.
 * Collaborate with other departments, sites, and suppliers to gain broad exposure.
 * Support management on day-to-day tasks and develop presentation skills; work with a personal mentor for onboarding.
Qualifications
 * Studying a Bachelor’s or integrated Master’s degree and aiming for a 2:2 or above in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Automotive Engineering.
 * Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Manufacturing Systems and/or Quality Systems is beneficial.
 * Fluent verbal and written English; German skills are advantageous.
 * Ability to work independently, adapt approaches to specific requirements, and collaborate with a team.
 * Initiative to take projects from concept through to implemented solutions.
 * Experience with Microsoft Office tools.
