Early Years Teaching Assistant
Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Killingworth to recruit a dedicated Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis after the Easter break. This role has strong potential to continue into the new academic year in September.
Early Years Teaching Assistant Role:
You will be supporting children within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to create a nurturing, engaging and stimulating learning environment. Working closely with the class teacher, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ development across all areas of learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years provision
2. Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to support learning and development
3. Assist with phonics, early numeracy and communication skills
4. Help to create a safe, positive and inclusive classroom environment
5. Support children’s social and emotional development
6. Contribute to observations and assessments where required
Requirements
7. Previous experience working with children in an EYFS or primary setting
8. A passion for supporting early childhood development
9. A patient, caring, and proactive approach
10. Strong communication and teamwork skills
11. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
