Overview
We have an exciting role on offer within our Highways Fleet and Infrastructure as a Senior Fleet Management Workshop Foreman. Our workshop is a key department within Middlesbrough Council, and we are looking for a Workshop Foreman/Supervisor with effective communication skills with a minimum of 4 years’ experience at this level in a workshop environment.
Responsibilities
You'll be at the forefront of our service as a front-line leader ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the workshop. You will report directly to the Fleet Workshop Manager. You'll be responsible for leading and motivating the team to achieve set goals and objectives, ensuring health and safety, quality, output, and adherence to Middlesbrough Council Values.
To be successful in this role you need experience of and the ability to run MOT lanes for class 4,5 & 7 tests which includes taxi compliance testing this a shared responsibility alongside the Workshop Manager. Experience of using fleet management systems such as Tranman, Fleetwave, R2C would be preferable.
This role will require you to be well organised, have a methodical approach to workload with the ability to manage several processes and tasks at the same time. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of servicing and repair of HGV vehicles between 3.5 tonne and 32 tonne including diagnosis and repair of Refuge Collection Vehicles.
Requirements
The successful candidate must hold:
* A current full UK driving and MOT licence.
* A City and Guilds Motor vehicle qualification or equivalent.
You will have a responsibility for driving continuous improvement, optimising processes, and resources for enhanced efficiency.
As part of the role, you may occasionally be required to work unsociable hours including weekends.
