Your new role
1. To be self motivated to produce high quality upholstered products in line with specifications
2. Ensure all products produced are of the highest quality ready to go to our customers
3. Prepare frames for upholstery including adding different foams and fibres
4. Use a range of springs to ensure our products are prepared for upholstery
5. In some instances, fill cushions using different fillings to complete the product
6. Work with a large range of materials including fabrics and leathers to upholster our products
7. If needed, cut various materials ready for upholstery
8. Ensure tension and straining methods are used when positioning materials
9. Use a range of trimmings and finishings including buttons, facings, piping and decorative studs
10. Use compressed air equipment like staple guns as well as hand tools
11. Creating different types of pleats including scroll arm, envelope and puckering
12. Ensure you work as part of a team on piece work production, to ensure manufacturing runs smoothly
13. Maintain your knowledge of all DFS products to ensure you know the specifications
14. Ensure that the Companys Health and Safety Policies are applied and adhered to
15. Ensure your workspace is tidy and not causing any obstruction for you or your colleagues
16. On occasion and as required assist on other areas of manufacturing
What you'll be doing
As an experienced Upholsterer at DFS, youll be responsible for producing high-quality upholstered furniture using a range of materials and techniques.
From preparing frames and fitting springs to upholstering with fabric or leather, youll ensure every product meets our exacting standards.
Working as part of a team, you'll maintain a clean, safe workspace and help ensure smooth, efficient production.
