Job Title: Transaction and Trade Reporting Analyst

Division: Market Oversight

Department: Market Oversight and Data Intelligence

Salary: National (Edinburgh and Leeds) £43,100 to £55,000; London £47,300 to £60,000 (based on skills and experience)

Grade: Associate Level 8 – Regulatory

The Market Oversight Directorate oversees conduct in UK primary and secondary markets through the listing, prospectus, and market abuse regimes, aiming to promote trusted, orderly, and efficient markets via its four departments: Listing, Primary Market Oversight, Secondary Market Oversight, and Market Oversight Data & Intelligence.

Within the Market Oversight Directorate, the Market Oversight Data and Intelligence (MODI) Department, formed in 2024, drives data‑led regulation by delivering specialist services, intelligence, and casework across UK markets, supporting innovation, insight, and effective oversight through advanced analytical and technical capabilities.


Role Responsibilities

* Deliver casework related to Errors and Omissions in UK MiFID, EMIR, and SFTR reporting.
* Work with industry to oversee firm‑specific remediation programmes.
* Respond to industry queries on the reporting regimes we are responsible for.
* Conduct targeted supervisory work focusing on firms or areas of specific strategic interest.
* Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding these datasets.
* Engage with regulatory market data and understand how it supports FCA investigations and decision‑making.


Minimum Skills Required

* Experience with casework and using case management systems.
* Experience engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Interest in a role offering exposure to wholesale financial markets data.


Essential Skills

* Clear written and oral communication skills, able to explain complex, technical matters to a range of audiences.
* Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and engage stakeholders.
* Sound judgement, with the capacity to make clear and timely decisions and recommendations based on input from data and intelligence.
