Service Engineer – (Instrumentation / Process Automation) – CEMS SICK/EndressHauser Midlands, UK At EndressHauser, progress happens by working together. Role Responsibilities for a Service Engineer: At EndressHauser we are looking for a Service Engineer for the Midlands region with some National travel including Ireland. You will be working on various customer sites including Energy from Waste facilities and power stations. You must enjoy problem solving and bringing solutions to our customers. Main responsibilities for a Service Engineer: Establishing and maintaining the detailed knowledge of products and services necessary for ongoing support, repair and maintenance of SICK supported equipment Establishing the relevant knowledge of legislation according to products and processes, in particular Performance Monitoring, Health & Safety and Risk Assessments Liaising and communicating with customers, 3rd party suppliers and internal employees in order to provide maximum availability of service and, where appropriate, identifying revenue opportunities and areas for performance improvement Carry out commissioning of equipment, provide breakdown support, and deliver basic customer training as required Planning site visits and attending customer sites in order to carry out, repairs and maintain equipment with a view to commercial efficiency, viability and customer satisfaction. This will include travel, stay away over night or – on very rare occasions - work at weekends may be required as part of the 24/7 breakdown rota, in which the successful candidate can opt into (opting into the 24/7 scheme brings an industry leading renumeration package) Working in conjunction with the Sales and Service team to actively and proactively generate sales activities to achieve financial targets whilst maintaining targeted profit margins Communicating regularly with Manager, Market Product Manager and Sales Specialist - PA and assisting with lead generation and market intelligence Working with the Service Manager to establish contracts and identifying service revenue opportunities Taking direct responsibility - in agreement with the Service Manager - for certain specified projects and customers Attending and participating in training courses and Service Meetings when requested Qualification Profile for a Field Service Engineer: Experience of working within a field service role, in particular on customer based sites Background and experience in the Gas analysis or Gas detection Industry preferred Degree in Electronics Engineering and / or Chemistry or equivalent business experience Strong analytical and communication skills High level of computer literacy Good commercial awareness Have strong communication skills, both written and verbal Have strong interpersonal skills Have a high level of self motivation with attention to detail Have a high degree of customer service skills Be able to work on their own as well as member of a team Be able to understand and interpret technical drawings for the purposes of fault diagnosis and rectification Requirements for the role of a Field Service Engineer: Must hold a driving licence Have a flexible approach to the role as some jobs require working outside the contractual working hours, being away from home (when technically competent) and be expected to participate in a 24/7 response rota for Service Contracts Must be able to work at heights Benefits Perks for a Field Service Engineer: The security of working for an international family-owned company who are a global driver within measurement instrumentation.
