Infrastructure Engineer
Reports to: Head of Hybrid & Modern Workplace
Location: South of England
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Must have a valid driving licence and vehicle due to frequent travel.
Responsibilities
* Implement security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls, automated deployments and data encryption.
* Manage server patching levels and implement processes to enhance patch coverage, utilising appropriate tools and ensuring all machines meet the required levels.
* Support the creation, deployment and hardening of Windows Server images, owning deployment technologies.
* Identify, investigate, report and resolve cyber‑related issues within the infrastructure arena.
* Develop new processes with the Cyber IT Security Manager to improve cyber resilience.
Qualifications & Skills
* Experience implementing security measures and operating software to protect systems and information within the infrastructure.
* Full life‑cycle implementation and management of Active Directory, Windows Servers, MS‑SQL, Citrix, Cisco switching, firewalls, DMZ and cloud environments such as AWS.
* Experience working in a highly technical role within a large complex organisation.
* Experience implementing application and patch management solutions to ensure all infrastructure devices are aligned to the correct patch levels.
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary, c. £45,000 per annum (range £40,000–£50,000 depending on experience). Includes employer pension contributions and other standard benefits.
