ROLE SUMMARY - THIS IS A TEST This is a fixed term role to ensure that UK Sport’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion plans are embedded into the new organisational structure and that momentum is not lost in this strategically important area as the organisation embraces change. UK Sport’s plans on EDI are ambitious and span UK Sport as an organisation, the organisations that we fund, athletes and the sporting fanbase. You will provide EDI technical expertise and work with 4 Executive Leads to embed plans and delivery mechanisms for our EDI activity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead the plans to build EDI activity into business as usual at UK Sport, ensuring that accountabilities, work streams and outcomes are clear Identify EDI training, guidance, education and upskilling needs and lead a programme of work to embed those skills Deliver a range of EDI activities until the point at which appropriate transition points can be reached with individual teams. These activities to include: Internal lead on matters connected to Transgender Support for TRARIIS activity Support for Anti-Racism Group Support for EDI Advisory Group Day-to-day programme management of EDI Strategy through engagement with EDI Priority Exec Leads Manage the NGB DIAP process Oversight of Moving to Inclusion Support for Aspire to Lead Oversight of our contract with Perrett Laver regarding the programme of diverse board-ready candidates Manage the relationship with SCEG Support the implementation of UK Sport’s DIAP KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES This role is expected to operate with high levels of proactivity, autonomy, discretion, and personal accountability, building positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues. Essential: Demonstrable experience in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion both in terms of expertise and application Able to understand the context of High Performance Sport, find solutions to problems and enable others and self to deliver activity Strong relationship management skills – able to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders, creating trust and credibility and working effectively across teams/departments/partner organisations Ability to exercise exceptional judgement in a range of situations, acting as a trusted advisor with strong decision-making capability Forward-looking thinker, who actively seeks opportunities to make improvements and embraces change Desirable: Experience of developing others Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development, as an individual and for wider team The duties and responsibilities highlighted in this Job Description are indicative and may vary over time.
