We are currently recruiting a Quality Inspector (permanent or contract‑basis will be considered) who will be responsible for ensuring quality is upheld at every stage of the production journey.
You’ll play a key part in verifying materials, components and assemblies, maintaining accurate inspection records, and supporting a clean, well‑organised working environment. This position offers the chance to develop technical capability, contribute to audits, uphold compliance with established management systems, and work closely with colleagues across the business.

What you will be doing
* Ensure that the quality requirements of the customer and Kongsberg Maritime Ltd are achieved within the Operations environment at Dunfermline.
* Assist in Factory Acceptance Tests in conjunction with Survey Society, customers and Kongsberg Maritime Ltd personnel.
* To carry out planned inspection, in‑process inspection and Patrol inspection raising potential quality issues with the appropriate personnel. Ensuring all personnel within the manufacturing areas are adhering to the required quality standards.
* To carry out final inspection of contracts to establish that all manufacturing and customer requirements achieved prior to delivery.
* To raise NCRs promptly on discovering a non‑conformance and to ensure that the material is identified and rectified prior to use in manufacture.
* To inspect / witness tests of items on site and at supplier’s premises when required.
* Assist in compiling customer data books in accordance with Kongsberg Maritime Ltd and customer requirements.
* To carry out goods in receiving inspection and associated documentation is confirmed and filed appropriately.
* Responsible for ensuring all inspection requirements are carried out in accordance with Quality Plans and in a timely manner to accommodate production requirements.
* Carry out any other task within your capabilities as designated by your Line Manager.
We think you should have
* Time served with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a Quality Assurance and or Engineering environment.
* Experience in use of CMM equipment and other precision measurement equipment
* Computer literacy – primarily Excel and Word, together with JobScope ERP system – not essential as training will be given.
* Experience in dealing with internal and external customers
* They should be motivated, prepared to use their own initiative, work with little supervision, have good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work as a team member in a busy environment, responding quickly and efficiently to requirements.
* Ability to work with our ERP system and other IT software packages such as Word, Excel & Outlook
