The Role
Headteacher Designate - Windsor Apollo Academy (Walsall)
This is a defining opportunity to become the founding Headteacher of a brand new, proposed £50m free school set to open in September 2027. We are looking for a leader to join us from September 2026 to play an integral role in shaping the vision and building the school's legacy from the ground up. You will lead the mission to make Apollo a \"civic heart\" for Walsall, where academic excellence meets community vitality.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a clear strategic vision and School Improvement Plan (SIP).
Teaching and Learning: Secure and sustain effective teaching standards, utilising national benchmarks to drive student achievement.
Curriculum Development: Lead the implementation of a broad and balanced curriculum, including the ASPIRE curriculum and the WAT Pledge.
Staff Management: Lead, motivate and develop staff through high-quality professional development and an effective appraisal system.
Community Engagement: Build strong partnerships with parents and the wider community to enhance teaching and community cohesion.
Accountability: Provide objective advice and performance data to the Director of Education and the Local Community Committee.
