The Fashion programme has been designed to give graduates the tools to become innovative fashion practitioners and communicators, incorporating entrepreneurship, modern craftsmanship and contemporary practice to establish their own personal design identity, cultivating both the creative and practical skills.
We are seeking a dynamic degree level Lecturer (Creative Practitioner) to join our dynamic team and support the development of the programme direction and growth. The person we appoint will work in the Visual Art faculty. Skills will involve industry experience from a relevant fashion communication sector i.e. Trend, Fashion communication, design, styling, marketing, brand development, etc.
Essential to this role are excellent administrative, planning, and organisational skills, as you will take responsibility and lead in areas such as module leadership, assessment of student progress and attendance. You will collaborate with colleagues on the implementation of assessment procedures, contributing towards the growth of the programme. We are looking for someone with relevant industry experience and contacts, as well as knowledge of contextual research and the current professional practice within the global fashion industry. Higher education academic experience would be desirable.
Responsibilities
* Lead in module leadership and assessment of student progress and attendance.
* Collaborate on the implementation of assessment procedures and contribute to programme growth.
* Utilise industry experience from fashion communication sectors (e.g., trend, design, styling, marketing, brand development).
Qualifications and experience
* Relevant industry experience and established contacts in the fashion communications sector.
* Knowledge of contextual research and current professional practice in the global fashion industry.
* Higher education academic experience is desirable.
