P+S Personnel are pleased to be working on behalf of our clients, who are currently looking for a Quality Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis based in Great Yarmouth.
Job Role:
To ensure the Project Quality Requirements are identified and complied with from handover meeting to product dispatch. Ensuring our customer receive a quality product, delivered on time whilst protecting the companies interests through making risk-based quality control decisions. Ensure timely coordination with client or third parties throughout design and build, timely submission of project deliverables as per SDRL, compilation of product dossiers to complete product manufacturing in line with delivery schedules.
Main Responsibilities:
* Attend project handover meetings.
* Review, Generate, Approve and Monitor ITPs, Project Execution Plans and Quality Plan’s
* Support generation, review and approve PMI and Welding Packs.
* Manage NOI, and attend witnessing internally and at supplier, as required for your projects
* Review material certification content against project requirements (unless outsourced)
* Verify systems with approved P&ID and GA drawings.
* Review & Approve test procedures, calibration & test certificates, Inspection Release Notes.
* Support QC Inspection by carrying out Quality inspections using a combination of inspection skills (dimensional, paint, welding, surface finish, PMI, visual) as required.
* Carry out document reviews, expediting and product release and final inspection.
* Coordinate with Third Party Inspection Agencies, and Client Inspectors daily.
* Generate project reports for the management team and clients.
* Generate Quality Alerts to share knowledge and lessons learned globally.
* Promote and apply continuous improvement methodologies, such as; Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, Statistical Process Control, Process Failure Modes and Effect Analysis and Lean.
* Proactively manage all submitted non-conformances relating to your projects ensuring those that warrant it have an effective root cause analysis carried out, with the objective of implementing permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
* Perform audits to assess the verification and effectiveness of corrective actions generated from RCA.
* Take ownership of and lead investigations into reasons for negative trends in Quality and Delivery.
* Collect and evaluate quality data to identify process improvement opportunities (OFI),
* Drive collection of data, enabling to monitor and review causes of COPQ.
Person Specification:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Inspection, Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance in Oil and Gas or in an industry with a demonstrable level of transferability.
* External candidates should hold a HNC, City & Guilds Licentiateship, BTEC Higher Professional Diploma.
* NVQ level 4 or equivalent qualification in Engineering or Quality.
* Demonstrated competency through experience gained while working within an Oil & Gas Engineer.
* Order business or a transferable low-volume/high complexity field.
* Uphold quality performance and compliance through ongoing evaluation and reporting.
* Ad-hoc, potentially short notice, travel to support supplier witnessing for your projects.
* Attendance at design reviews to ensure understanding and advise lessons learned.
* Carry out internal audits as allocated by programme coordinator.
* Internal or lead auditor qualification ISO 9001 (desirable).
* NDT Level II (RT, PT, UT, MT, VT) – ASNT TC 1A or ANSI/ASNT CP-106:2008 (ISO 9712:2005, Modified) (desirable).
Working Hours:
* Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week.
