Eastfield Academy is now recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for 2 days per week. T his role could be your next career opportunity. About the role To work with teachers to support teaching and learning, providing general and specific assistance to pupils and staff under the direction, guidance and direct supervision of the classroom teacher. Occasional 1:1 and working with intervention groups as the school requires. The duties listed below are examples of duties at this level and other duties of a similar level/nature may be undertaken by individuals and are not excluded simply because they are not itemised. Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback to the teacher Support pupils to understand instructions support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher. Assists with the planning of learning activities. Monitors pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately records achievement/progress as directed. Provides detailed and regular feedback to teachers on pupils’ achievements, progress, problems etc. Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate. Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment. Participates in discussions with parents/carers under the general direction of a teacher. Record basic pupil data. Support children’s learning through play Assist with break-time/lunchtime supervision including facilitating games and activities. Assist with escorting pupils on educational visits. Support pupils in using basic ICT. Invigilate exams and tests. Assist pupils with eating, dressing and hygiene, as required, whilst encouraging independence. The role is either 2 days per week 8:30am to 3:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break or 4 mornings per week. To be discussed at interview. Term time only. Start date is September 2025. GCSE Grade A - C English and Maths Experience of delivering Read Write Inc lessons Proven ability to carry out allocated tasks under supervision Experience working with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and providing feedback to the teacher Previous experience assisting with break time supervision including facilitating games and activities and escorting pupils on educational visits Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people. Motivation to work with children and young people.
