Maintenance Engineer – FMCG Manufacturing
£43,000 – £47,000 + Excellent Benefits | Double Days (6–2 / 2–10) | Peterborough
Are you a mechanically biased, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to join a rapidly growing FMCG manufacturing business in the Peterborough area, offering strong pay, excellent benefits, and genuine career progression?
We are working with a well-established and expanding manufacturer seeking skilled Maintenance Engineers to support a modern, high-volume FMCG production site in Peterborough. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term role within a business investing heavily in people, equipment, and future growth.
The Role
Working within a fast-paced FMCG environment, you'll be responsible for a balanced split of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance, ensuring production lines and machinery run safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on automated manufacturing and packaging equipment
* Mechanical fault-finding, repairs, and improvements, with supporting electrical work where required
* Responding to breakdowns in a time-critical production environment
* Supporting continuous improvement, reliability, and engineering improvement projects
* Working closely with production teams to maintain output, safety, and quality standards
This role operates on a Double Days shift pattern (6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm), providing structure and consistency without night shifts.

* Mechanically biased, multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
* Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, or automated production environments
* Strong mechanical fault-finding skills with basic to intermediate electrical competence
* Proactive, reliable, and motivated to progress within a growing organisation
