We are seeking a Solicitor with experience or strong interest in contentious construction law to join our commercially focused disputes team. The role will focus on disputes arising from construction contracts, including JCT, and will involve supporting clients on payment claims, defective works, delay and disruption, termination, and related matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise clients on construction disputes arising from JCT and similar contracts, covering payment claims, defective works, delay and disruption, and termination.
* Act across the full dispute lifecycle, including adjudication, mediation, and litigation in the Technology and Construction Court.
* Provide strategic, real‑time advice in live project situations to manage risk, strengthen positions, and create leverage where disputes are unavoidable.
* Work collaboratively with clients and across the wider disputes practice, contributing to a commercial and outcome‑focused approach.
* Develop to a senior role within the team over time, supported by structured training and exposure to high‑quality work.
* Adopt a client‑focused, practical approach and maintain effective workload management and clear communication.
Qualifications & Experience
* Solicitor qualified and currently engaged in litigation or dispute resolution.
* Experience or exposure to construction disputes, ideally involving JCT contracts and issues such as payment claims, defective works, delay, disruption, and termination.
* Experience with adjudication, mediation, or High Court/Technology and Construction Court proceedings is helpful but not essential.
* Strong analytical skills and the ability to engage with complex disputes.
* Excellent written and oral communication, with a collaborative team orientation.
