Our Chelmsford and Cambridge offices house experienced highway engineers dedicated to delivering major UK highway projects and creating social value. We seek an experienced senior highway engineer to join us in Chelmsford or Cambridge (minimum 2 days/week in office).
Responsibilities:
* Prepare designs and specifications per DMRB standards.
* Develop designs using AutoCAD, Civil3D (as applicable).
* Manage work packages, schemes, and multidisciplinary teams.
* Support project planning and programming.
* Contribute to project pricing, proposals, and cost estimates.
* Check, certify, and approve designs and reports.
* Lead and coordinate graduate engineers and technicians.
* Collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
* Mentor junior staff for professional development.
* Prepare feasibility studies, technical reports, and contract documents.
* Work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
* Innovate to achieve best value.
* Provide technical leadership and support.
Candidate profile:
* BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering; Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred.
* Significant highway design experience per DMRB standards.
* Understanding of project delivery and commercial aspects.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and procedures, including departures.
* Experience with NEC contracts and project management is advantageous.
