EHS Compliance Manager
Location:
Oxfordshire with travel across regional sites
Salary:
£50,000 - £60,000 + car allowance + bonus
The Role
We are seeking an experienced
EHS Compliance Manager
to lead a small team and oversee environmental, health and safety compliance across a portfolio of operational sites. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for ensuring sites meet all relevant environmental permits, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
You will act as the first line of defence on compliance, managing audits, supporting site managers during regulator inspections, and making sure corrective actions are closed out promptly. The role also involves maintaining accreditations such as PAS100/110 and APHA approvals, ensuring training is delivered across operations, and reporting compliance performance to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a small compliance team supporting multiple sites.
* Ensure all sites comply with environmental permits, quality standards, and health & safety legislation.
* Oversee internal and external audits, managing corrective actions and maintaining accreditations.
* Build strong relationships with regulators (Environment Agency, HSE, APHA, DVSA etc.) and support site managers during inspections.
* Produce accurate regulatory reporting, such as environmental returns and performance reports.
* Keep compliance procedures, risk assessments, and training records up to date.
* Deliver training and guidance to managers and staff on EHS compliance requirements.
* Support new projects and operational changes to ensure compliance is considered from the outset.
About You
* Proven experience in environmental and health & safety compliance in a multi-site operational environment.
* Strong knowledge of environmental permits, APHA requirements, and industry accreditations such as PAS100/110.
* Confident working with regulators and managing audits.
* NEBOSH, WAMITAB, or equivalent EHS/Environmental qualifications.
* Effective communicator with the ability to explain complex compliance requirements in simple terms.
* Strong leadership and team development skills.
* Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing competing priorities across multiple sites.
