Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities, including those with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Duties
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients' health conditions
* Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences
* Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
* Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress
* Support clients with behaviour management strategies as needed
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals for case management and ongoing support
Skills
* First aid certification is highly desirable
* Previous experience in nursing homes, care homes, or assisted living environments
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's and dementia care principles
* Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of medical terminology
* Strong background in senior care, home care, and patient care practices
* Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare teams
* Capability to prepare meals that meet nutritional guidelines
* Willingness to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients
