We’re supporting the appointment of a Senior Category Manager to lead procurement across HR and Business Services within a large, complex organisation. This is a senior role with responsibility for high‑value, strategically important spend and close engagement with senior stakeholders across People and Corporate functions.
The Role
You’ll lead end‑to‑end category management, strategic sourcing, contract management and supplier relationship management across a broad HR and Business Services portfolio. Acting as a trusted commercial partner, you’ll shape category strategy, identify opportunities for value and innovation, and ensure robust risk and governance management.
The role also includes line management of two direct reports and a strong focus on developing capability and embedding best‑practice procurement.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead category strategy and sourcing activity across HR & Business Services
* Deliver complex, high‑value procurement exercises from strategy through to contract award
* Manage supplier relationships, performance, benefits realisation and continuous improvement
* Provide strong commercial challenge to stakeholders to optimise value and manage risk
* Ensure effective contract management and compliance with governance requirements
* Monitor market trends and introduce innovative commercial approaches
Experience Required
* Significant experience in HR & Business Services procurement
* Strong commercial and contractual capability, including negotiation of complex agreements
* Experience managing multiple, concurrent initiatives in a fast‑paced environment
* Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and analytical skills
* Professional qualification (e.g. CIPS, MRICS) or equivalent experience
* People management experience is desirable

This role operates on a hybrid basis with 3 days per week in the office based in Hounslow
