Hours
37 hours per week. From 1/4/26 the full‑time working week will reduce to 36 hours; part‑time hours will be pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate to keep pay unchanged.
Job Overview
We are recruiting a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker for a busy orthopaedic ward. Ward 5 is a 30‑bed surgical unit specialising in pre‑ and post‑operative care for elective gynecological procedures and rehabilitation of orthopaedic patients post‑surgery. The workload and patient groups are diverse, offering opportunities to develop surgical nursing knowledge. Full support is provided with professional development and Dr Grays has an on‑site Practice Education Team.
Responsibilities
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high quality, safe, person‑centred care.
* Provide support to patients in an orthopaedic and surgical setting, including assisting with mobility, transfers, personal care and basic nursing tasks.
* Assist with patient assessments, documentation and care planning under the supervision of nursing staff.
* Support the implementation of care plans and ensure patient safety and comfort.
Qualifications & Skills
* Band 2 Health Care Support Worker qualification.
* Experience in a surgical or orthopaedic ward is an advantage.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
