Job Summary:
• We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Children’s Contact Worker to provide supervised contact between children in care and their families, as outlined in individual care plans.
• This is a vital role that supports family relationships while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting children, supervising family time sessions, and reporting on contact visits.
• This role is ideal for someone with a strong commitment to safeguarding, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work sensitively with children and families during emotionally challenging situations.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Transport children and young people safely to and from contact sessions.
• Supervise contact between children and their parents/carers in line with the care plan and relevant procedures.
• Observe and record contact sessions, providing written reports using standard templates.
• Identify and report any safeguarding concerns to the appropriate professionals.
• Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming contact rooms in line with health and safety standards.
• Use computer systems to record information and manage administrative tasks.
• Support service duty arrangements and attend team meetings or training as required.
• Work flexibly across sites to meet service needs.
Skills/Experience:
• Experience of working with children, young people, or families in a support or care setting.
• Understanding of safeguarding principles and the ability to act on concerns.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to maintain professional boundaries and remain calm in emotionally charged situations.
• Strong organisational skills and basic IT literacy.
• Ability to follow procedures and accurately record observations.
Additional Information:
• A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is often essential for this role.
• Part-time role: 12 Hr/week.
