Senior Project Engineer (Circuits Cable & OHL) Cambuslang Salary starting from £53,280 per annum plus excellent benefits Flexible Hybrid Working Closing Date: 4 June 2025 Help us create a better future, quicker SP Energy Networks (SPEN) are working to achieve 2030 transmission network targets set by the Scottish and UK Government. SPEN will invest over £5bn in transmission projects across our transmission network in central and southern Scotland by 2030. A Senior Project Engineer within SP Transmission Operations (Circuits) manages all aspects of transmission operations, including project management, operational safety, maintenance and quality assurance. They take ownership and accountability for cost and output volumes as agreed with the Asset owner for works associated with Refurbishment, Investment and Maintenance activities. They manage a team to effectively deliver elements of the OHL Investment & Maintenance programmes, this involves leading and coaching individuals to enable the teams capabilities to satisfy delivery requirements. The post holder will act as the interface for Transmission Field Operations, OCC & Network Planning businesses to secure required outages to ensure optimum network security, integrity and long term network planning. They will also liaise with third parties, such as contractors and external businesses to manage the safety, efficiency and cost of works. What you’ll be doing Ensuring compliance with legislative, industry and company Health, Safety and Environmental requirements. Effectively managing delivery financials including considering budget, forecasts, timescales, corporate system (SAP). Managing contracts ensuring adherence to financial and governance processes. Constructing programmes of work associated with engineering and delivery requirements Managing tender process, including all activities in the preparation and review of tenders through to award. Responsible for delivery and management of OHL I&M Policy requirements including: Compile Regulatory Reporting Pack (RRP) for OHL activities Responding appropriately to Customer Complaints, taking ownership and resolving as appropriate. Liaising with operational support for planned work ensuring correct resources are in place along with appropriate Method Statements and Risk Assessments Managing Safety & Quality control of all associated activities including auditing Ensuring accurate records are maintained for all project works and that company records are updated on completion. Providing monthly updates (Scorecard Reporting) on Project Delivery incl weekly and monthly reporting and regulatory reporting Participating in training/development activities and review effectiveness Managing the development of assigned staff and trainees through performance management frameworks and on-job coaching & mentoring What you’ll bring Contract & SLA management. General commercial & regulatory awareness. Developed negotiation, communication and people management skills. Sound Financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Ability to devise solutions to complex problems/challenges. Advanced complex project and programme management. Knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices. Knowledge of health, Safety and Environmental legislation. Knowledge of network and business data and network management systems and processes Working knowledge of SAP/NAMS processes.
