RF Systems Test Engineer
Cambridge | £50,000 - £65,000 + benefits | On-site most of the time
Our company designs complex RF systems for mission‑critical defence and security applications. The products are sophisticated, testing is demanding, and work is varied. One week you’ll calibrate systems in the lab, the next run EMC, vibration or shock tests in a chamber, and later you might validate the kit’s performance in the field.
It is hands‑on work; you’ll need to be based locally and be willing to spend most of the time in the lab or test chambers. The test team builds its own proprietary tools, shapes how testing is done, and is encouraged to find better ways of working.
The business has doubled in size and revenue in the last three years. With new investment and the backing of a global parent, benefits are improving (12% pension, bonuses, stock schemes). The engineering team will double again over the next three years, offering clear scope to step into a more senior role if you desire.
What You’ll Need
* Solid RF testing background (telecoms, defence, or similar)
* Experience with antenna theory, EMC compliance, and certification/qualification
* Hands‑on use of RF test equipment
* Embedded Linux exposure or scripting (Python/C++) would be useful, but not essential
If you’d like a role where you can tackle new RF challenges every week, shape how testing is done, and grow with a fast‑scaling business, click apply or get in touch for a confidential chat.
