2-month contract position with a local authority
Summary
* This is a 2-month contract position with a local authority, focused on providing accurate and timely recording of Child Protection Conferences. The role involves delivering clerical and administrative support to the Conference & Review Team, ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards and safeguarding procedures.
Responsibilities
* Attend Child Protection Conferences and take detailed notes directly onto a laptop.
* Use judgment and expertise to compile and produce a clear, agreed record of the Conference for circulation within Children’s Services and to external agencies and families, in line with procedural deadlines.
* Transcribe notes to provide an accurate and comprehensive record of discussions and decisions.
* Provide clerical and administrative support to Independent Reviewing Officers and the Team Manager.
* Maintain strict confidentiality of client information, ensuring correspondence is appropriately handled and labeled.
* Contribute to effective and efficient service delivery in accordance with Local Safeguarding Children’s Board priorities, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
* Experience in minute-taking or note-taking in formal meetings, preferably within social care or safeguarding settings.
* Familiarity with child protection processes and multi-agency working.
* Strong administrative background with experience supporting teams in a sensitive environment.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths; higher-level qualifications desirable.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and typing skills with high accuracy.
* Knowledge of safeguarding principles and confidentiality requirements.
