We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a well-established specialist primary setting in Andover. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN, or those from a mainstream school background looking to develop their career in a specialist environment. About the Setting This specialist provision supports primary-aged pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs in a structured, nurturing, and supportive environment. With small class sizes and a personalised approach, staff work together to help pupils build confidence, develop emotional resilience, and engage positively with learning. The Role You will work closely with teachers to support pupils both individually and in small groups, helping them access learning, develop social and emotional skills, and build positive routines. This role requires patience, consistency, and a calm approach, with a focus on creating a safe and encouraging environment where every child can succeed. Key Responsibilities Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation Deliver engaging and tailored learning support Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment Build positive and professional relationships with pupils We’re Looking For Experience working with SEMH, SEN, or in a school setting A patient, adaptable, and resilient approach Strong communication and behaviour support skills Full-time availability A genuine passion for supporting children and young people An enhanced DBS check will be required.
