Overview
Facilities Domestic Assistant (Springboard - Carlisle) 15 hours per week - Monday to Friday flexible working hours of 06.00-09.00 or 17.00-20.00
Undertake a range of cleaning duties within the premises, maintaining a very high standard of cleanliness. Cleaning of general areas, clinical areas and offices as required.
Responsibilities
* Collect linen stores as required.
* Comply with infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
* Comply with safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults.
* Vacuum carpets and maintain cleanliness of floors; damp dust furniture and fittings at high and low levels.
* Mop floors and use electrical equipment for floor maintenance when necessary.
* Check electrical equipment is in good condition and PAT tested where applicable.
* Clean toilets, baths and washbasins; empty bins and dispose of waste following waste management regulations.
* Clean equipment after use and assist with ward or departmental duties as appropriate.
* Undertake first wipe cleaning of bodily fluids as required and guard against risks such as needle-stick injuries, especially in toilet areas.
* Wear uniform and protective clothing issued, and make beds as requested.
* Attend and complete appropriate training as required.

Qualifications
Essential:
* NVQ Level 1 Cleaning & Support Services or equivalent
* BICSc certification or equivalent
Desirable:
* NVQ 2 in Cleaning and Support Services
* Food Hygiene Level 2
Knowledge & Experience
Essential:
* Knowledge of cleaning, food handling/hygiene, COSHH procedures
* Basic literacy and numeracy
Desirable:
* Work in a hospital environment
* Work in a domestic role
