We are seeking a Claims Consultant to join our high performing team of consultants in Perth. You will support the General Claims Manager in the delivery of claims determination and data management for the provision of an efficient and effective Claims Management service to the Members of the LGISWA.
You will be responsible for technical claims management of general claims (liability, property and motor) including gathering information, determining Policy coverage, liability and quantum, preparing correspondence, calculating settlements and processing payments.
This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home while collaborating in the office at least three days a week.
This is a Full-time fixed term position until July 2026 with the possibility of extension subject to need.
We will count on you to:
* Undertake technical claims management of general claims (liability, property and motor), under the direction of the Manager, General Claims and in accordance with claim management guidelines.
* Instruct and liaise with external lawyers and investigators for litigated claims.
* Make determinations on response of policies to claims received from our Members.
* Attend Court mediations / pre-trial conferences and instruct lawyers in resolving claims.
* Represent Members in Minor Case proceedings.
* Assist as required, Portfolio Manager and Manager, General Claims with the preparation, monitoring and analysis of claims data
* Identify and pursue all opportunities of achieving appropriate risk advice and timely claim resolution for civil liability claims, to achieve effective financial outcomes.
* Provide administrative and claim management support in a team environment as required.
What you need to have:
* Experience in claims management across the Liability, Property or Motor space.
* Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with various stakeholders.
* Detailed oriented with excellent organisation skills for handling claims documentation.
* A proactive team player who can work independently and lead by example.
* A law degree is preferred, but not essential.
