Part-Time Incumbent of St Mary’s Newton with Flowery Field The Bishop of Chester, in consultation with The Incumbent of Mottram as Patron, is seeking to appoint a part-time incumbent to the parish of Newton with Flowery Field. St Mary’s Newton with Flowery Field is a small, inclusive, vibrant, and friendly Church which enjoys Eucharistic worship in the Liberal Catholic style. It is also a progressive worshipping community, constantly seeking fresh ways to affirm our faith in God, and serve the people in our Parish. St Mary’s is a traditional Parish Church set in the heart of its local community. While the worshipping congregation is small, the parish has a very large population. We know that it is crucial for our survival as a Church that we grow in this next chapter. We are open to change and also recognise that we need the help of other local Anglican Churches to reach those who live and work in our parish. The parish is located within the densely populated Metropolitan Borough of Tameside and enjoys easy access to Manchester, Derbyshire and the Pennines. We are praying for an Incumbent who:
* Had a deep and reverent love for God, his people and all creation that shines through in her or his life and ministry.
* Lives their life in the presence of God and reflects this in their leadership.
* Will bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the role.
* Is approachable, willing to listen and provide guidance by prayer, advice and example.
* Will lead and be a visible presence in all parts of Church life.
* Has good verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to understand and work well with people of all ages and backgrounds.
* Can help others explore and live out the Christian faith in everyday life.
* Is committed to enabling others and can lead in an impartial, friendly, flexible, and trustworthy way.
* Possesses sound administrative, time management and IT skills.
* Is committed to their own development and growth.
* Is determined to live out their commitment to fostering a strong and effective safeguarding culture within the parish where all feel safe, valued, and welcome.
