A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cost Engineer to join a high performing project team supporting major CAPEX initiatives on an initial 12 month basis. This role plays a critical part in ensuring cost discipline, transparency, and forecasting accuracy across complex projects within the energy sector.
The Role
As Cost Engineer, you will:
* Develop and maintain Master Control Estimates and manage re-baselining through current control estimates.
* Capture commitments, actuals and forecasts, preparing cost reports and variance analyses.
* Provide accurate cost control and reporting at project and portfolio level.
* Work closely with SAP Admin and project teams to ensure PO allocation to the correct WBS and support timely closure of PO/WBS.
* Utilise Earned Value Management to support decision-making and performance tracking.
* Lead on cost-related activities including accruals, vendor cost management, VOWD and EAC reviews.
* Raise purchase requisitions and service entries as required.
* Drive continuous improvement in reporting and cost control processes.
About You
We’re looking for someone who can bring structure, challenge and clarity to cost engineering. You’ll have:
* Significant SAP experience, particularly in reporting and analysis of WBS and PO data.
* Strong Excel and MS Office/Office 365 skills.
* A solid understanding of project controls across Planning, Cost, Risk and MoC.
* The ability to analyse and challenge internal teams and contractors constructively.
* A keen eye for detail and a systematic approach to cost control.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to build relationships across disciplines.
